Dr. Baez is board certified in both small animal internal medicine and oncology. She received her veterinary degree at the University of Pennsylvania, was trained there for both of her specialties, and subsequently was on faculty at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Oncology. While she enjoyed teaching veterinary students, interns, and residents, as well as being involved in the clinical research and academic community at Penn, her passion has always been in caring for her patients and offering options for treatment that provide the best outcome and quality of life for the patient as well as the patient's family. She remains well informed on the newest available therapies for small animal oncology patients by attending veterinary specialty conferences. Dr. Baez is also involved in clinical trials offered through the University of Pennsylvania as well as through other venues. She is a member of the Veterinary Cancer Society, the Veterinary Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group, the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association. She has been at CARES since 2005, and enjoys spending time outside of CARES with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs: Tallulah, a golden retriever, and Michael, a pug.

Dr. Overley is a board-certified veterinary oncologist trained at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to CARES in 2008, she worked in the Oncology Department at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (VHUP) where she treated patients, taught students and residents, and performed clinically useful cancer research. Her areas of interest include the development of therapeutic cancer vaccines and improving the treatment of patients with tumor types such as melanoma, lymphoma, mammary carcinoma, osteosarcoma, and hemangiosarcoma. She brings extensive experience and knowledge and takes a compassionate, individualized approach to treatment of each patient. When not at CARES, Dr. Overley writes, stays active, and spends time with her family and two pets, Spanky and Bob.

Rose graduated from the veterinary technology program at Manor College in Jenkintown, PA. She joined the CARES team in 2007. Rose has a strong interest in pain management for cancer patients and learning about up & coming treatment options. She loves connecting with the “mom’s and dad’s” as well as their “babies” (aka pets). She finds being an oncology nurse very rewarding. Rose has been published in a national veterinary technician publication (vtarc Companion), which recognized her involvement in treating a patient diagnosed with Feline Retrobulbar Lymphoma.

Rose enjoys spending time with her fiancé Cory, Pekingese “Chloe”, Chihuahua “Vegas”, and rescue cat “Squirrel.”
