Megan King, VMD graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She then completed a rotating medical and surgical internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in 2004. Dr. King stayed on at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital for her cardiology residency. Dr. King completed her residency in cardiology in 2006 and is board certified in cardiology. Her specialty includes comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of both congenital and acquired heart disease, congestive heart failure, pericardial effusion, pulmonary disease, and pleural space disease.

CARES offers a mobile cadiology service for referring veterinarians.  This service is designed to provide our referring practitioners convenience, while receiving the same high quality service expected at CARES.  It’s also an opportunity for the primary care veterinarian and cardiologist to collaborate directly and to participate in the management of cardiac patient care. This specialty-level cardiac evaluation provided in the primary care setting will add great value to the primary care practice.

Dr. Megan King, the only board certified cardiologist providing mobile services in the area, will come directly to your location.  CARES will make the process as seamless as possible by bringing a certified veterinary technician, to minimize the impact on your workflow.

Our goal would be to provide a complete cardiac evaluation including echocardiogram, ECG, blood pressure, and most importantly a direct consultation between the cardiologist, primary care veterinarian and pet owner.  Dr. King would be available to assist with follow-up care and case management as needed.

These mobile services will be in addition to our current cardiology services at the CARES location.  Please note that Dr. King will maintain her four days per week schedule, utilizing some afternoons for mobile visits. Daytime and evening appointments will still be available here at CARES.
