Clinical Pathology
Dr. Liz Little is a clinical pathologist for IDEXX Reference Laboratories but works full-time at CARES. The clinical pathologist is responsible for providing clinicians with diagnostic evaluations in the area of clinical pathology.
The area of clinical pathology includes:
- Cytopathology
- Body fluid analyses
- Cerebral spinal fluid analyses
- CBC reviews
- Chemistry reviews
This arrangement enables CARES to provide in-house processing and staining of cytologies and blood smear reviews with same day reporting on weekdays. In addition, local clinics can utilize the cytology service for emergency/STAT samples if they have an established IDEXX account.
