The ophthalmology service at CARES offers consultations for orbital, adnexal, and ocular disease in a timely fashion including ophthalmic certification examination (CERF) by a board-certified ophthalmologist, as well as advanced diagnostics including electroretinography and orbital/ocular imaging, including ultrasonography and computerized axial tomography, as well as an in-house ocular pathologist.
CARES also offers contemporary microsurgical surgical therapeutics including phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation for cataracts, gonioimplantation, automated vitrectomy, pneumatic retinopexy, cryosurgery, and endolaser cycloablation.
CARES ophthalmic emergency service with an ophthalmologist is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
